Rough Ryder’s “A Stroke of Luck” Whittler is a classic pocket knife that anybody would be lucky to own. The green smooth bone handle has nickel silver bolsters stamped with the image of a clover. It has a “Rough Rider” horseshoe shield, turned up to catch luck. The brass pins and liners give the knife a refined look that will age to a fine patina with use.

The “A Stroke of Luck” Whittler has three 440A stainless steel blades, a large and small clip point, and one spear point blade. The master blade has “A Stroke Of Luck” engraved on the blade and decorative floral etching. The base of the blades also keeps with the lucky theme of the knife, with a horseshoe stamped into the metal. Each blade opens with a match strike pull. Unlike a standard nail nick or long pull, a match strike pull has serrations inside the groove of the pull. These serrations allow you to strike a match with your knife. The blades use non-locking slip joints found in traditional pocket knives.

Whittler pocket knives traditionally have three blades, with one large blade on one end of the handle and two small blades on the other. There is some debate on what makes a knife a Whittler, but the general definition is that a Whittler is a knife with three blades and two back springs. The larger, thick blade uses both springs while the smaller blades each bear on one of the springs.

The “A Stroke of Luck” Whittler is unique knife that will give you a stroke of the luck wherever you carry it. Reliable enough for daily use, it still has a distinct flare, and is perfect for carry or collecting.
