Rough Ryder’s “Backwoods Bushcrafter” Hawkbill is a beautiful knife that will only get better with age. The sawcut bone handles have copper pins, liners, bolsters, and a copper shield that all look great out of the box. The pinched bolsters also feature a slant R design, and the shield has the words “Rough Rider/Always Ready”. Over time, the oils in your hand alter the patina of the copper and give it true character unique to your knife.

The “Backwoods Bushcrafter” Hawkbill has a single 440A stainless steel hawkbill blade. The blade has a blackwash finish for a rugged look and contrasts with the copper bolsters. The pinched bolsters also feature an R design. The blade opens with a match strike pull. Unlike a standard nail nick or long pull, a match strike pull has serrations inside the groove of the pull. These serrations allow you to strike a match with your knife. The blade uses the half stops and slip joints found in traditional pocket knives.

This knife is a hawkbill knife. These knives have a wide range household and outdoor uses. They are for cutting rope or nets, removing carpet, and pruning trees or shrubs. The blade has a concave shape and allows the knife to slice around objects and needs very little pressure to work. These knives let you cut by pulling along in a direction with one hand.

The “Backwoods Bushcrafter” Hawkbill is a perfect knife for a collector, or for use as an everyday carry. The copper and bone handles complement the blackwash blade right out of the box, and with use it becomes a one-of-a-kind knife unique to you.
