Rough Ryder’s “Bolster Stripes” Little Toothpick is a beautiful pocket knife with peach seed jigged bone handles. The dark brown of the bone of the handle give the knife a warm color that contrasts with the nickel silver bolsters, pins, and Rough Ryder shield.

The “Bolster Stripes” Little Toothpick has a single mirror polished 440A stainless steel clip point blade. The blade has a “Rough Ryder” etching. The bolsters have a ridged striped design, which gives the knife a more elegant appearance. Combined with the bone handles and the nickel silver shield, this knife is a classic example of a traditional pocket knife. The blade opens with a match strike pull. Unlike a standard nail nick or long pull, a match strike pull has serrations inside the groove of the pull. These serrations allow you to strike a match with your knife. The blade uses the half stops and slip joints found in traditional pocketknives.

This knife is a toothpick pattern. The pattern bears resemblance to the French laguiloe knife and the Spanish navaja knife. The laguiloe was known as a picnic knife, while the navaja was a fighting and utility knife. Stories of history of the pattern range from use as a fishing knife to a fighting knife, but the pattern always remains a popular one.

The “Bolster Stripes” Little Toothpick is a perfect knife for a collector, or for use as an everyday carry. The deep brown bone handle and nickel silver fittings give the knife an elegant and refined look. Despite its good looks, this knife is still reliable and durable enough for everyday carry and use.
