Rough Ryder’s “Cooper Bolster” Stockman is a beautiful classic pocket knife that will only get better with age. The smooth bone handle has copper pins, liners, bolsters, and a copper shield that all look great out of the box. The bolsters have pinched ends and an embossed ring, and the shield has the double R Rough Ryder logo. Over time, the oils in your hand alter the patina of the copper and give it true character unique to your knife.

The “Copper Bolster” Stockman has three 440A stainless steel blades, one clip point, one sheepsfoot, and one spey. All blades have a blackwash finish for a rugged look and contrast with the copper bolsters. The pinched bolsters feature an embossed ring. Each blade opens with a match strike pull. Unlike a standard nail nick or long pull, a match strike pull has serrations inside the groove of the pull. These serrations allow you to strike a match with your knife. The blades use the half stops and slip joints found in traditional pocketknives.

This knife is a stockman style knife. The stockman pattern originated in the 1880s, and had a spear point master blade. In 1900 the master blade became a clip point. The other blades are a sheepsfoot and spey. The clip point is best suited to everyday tasks like cutting food, the sheepsfoot for push cutting or sawing, and the spey for cutting flesh.

The “Copper Bolster” Stockman is a perfect knife for a collector, or for use as an everyday carry. The copper and bone handle complements the blackwash blades right out of the box, and with use it becomes a one-of-a-kind knife unique to you.
